Att. Assı Bitik, LL.M. was born in Istanbul, in 1982. She graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 2005, following her high school education at Tarsus American College and M.E.T.U Private Foundation High School. Afterwards, she achieved her masters degree in law (LL.M.) from the University of Warwick, UK. majoring in International Economic Law. |
After completing her mandatory legal internship at Verdi & Yazıcı Law Firm, Att. Assı Bitik worked at Fidan & Fidan Law Firm, particularly in the area of Energy Law and Project Finance. During this period, she prepared and negotiated loan and security agreements on behalf of globally reputable companies, banks and financial institutions and she has been given an active role in performing all the necessary procedures within the context of those financing projects.
Later on, she has rendered legal consultancy and litigation services in the area of Company Law and Tax Law in Ernst & Young Turkey Office and worked in restructuring, partial/full spin-off and merger projects.
Most recently, while working in Akuğur Law Firm, she conducted legal due diligence and has taken part in every stage of preparation and negotiation of share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and all related documents within the concept of spin-off and M&A projects. By means of litigation, she has carried out tax litigation and pursued recognition and enforcement lawsuits.
Having continued academic studies in parallel with her career, Att. Assı Yaşa submitted a master’s dissertation regarding “International Arbitration and Sovereignty Dilemma Regarding the International Investment and Economic Development”. Also, an article drafted by her named as “The Upper Limit of The Stamp Duty and Problems Arising in Practice” was published in Yaklaşım Magazine (No: 224, August 2011).
Att. Assı Bitik has excellent command of written and spoken English.
